Join us as we kick off the 2026 Cradle Grave season!

The Cradle Grave program is a wonderful way to spend time outdoors in one of Philadelphia’s most beautiful green spaces, whether you’re volunteering on your own or as a family. Participants plant flowers and help maintain the area around their assigned graves, bringing life and color to these resting places while honoring the people interred here. It’s a meaningful way to connect with the cemetery while helping care for this historic landscape.

At this kickoff, you’ll receive your assignments and learn more about the program. A limited supply of flowers, seeds, and soil will be available, but please bring your own gardening hand tools if you have them.

We’ll meet at the office inside the Kingsessing Gate and then head out together for our first day of planting.

New volunteers are welcome, and we hope to see you there.
