WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA DAY TO HONOR VETERANS AT MOUNT MORIAH CEMETERY
On Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. sharp, the Friends of Mount Moriah Cemetery and members of the Southwest Philadelphia and Yeadon Borough communities will join together to honor Mount Moriah’s veterans for the holiday season during Wreaths Across America Day.
The ceremony will be held on the Yeadon Borough, Delaware County side of the cemetery which is located on the Cobbs Creek Parkway between Springfield Avenue and 65th Street.
Wreath placement will before the ceremony starting at 10 a..m.. All are welcome. Parking is available on both sides of the cemetery.
Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember all soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who served, to honor their sacrifices and to teach younger generations about the high cost of our freedoms. Specially designated wreaths for the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and POW/MIA will be placed on memorials during the ceremony that will be coordinated simultaneously at over 1,000 participating locations all across the Country.
